They are all single blocks  (15" x 22")  except for Aunt Cordelia & Violet and Carmella which are double appliqué blocks.  There is a detailed picture at the bottom of the page for the Virginia block and the Bridal face for Julia.

Filene is having trouble keeping her  scarf  from blowing away with her bonnet! 

Hester has two new bonnets. Both bonnets are included in the pattern. One view has a hatbox. 

Hyacinth is gardening in this picture which has a shadow applique sky. The shadow applique technique is found in the Ladies Day Out book.

Janelle is standing on the seashore waving to her friends in the sailboat. Shadow appliqué is used in the lake, sky, and rocks.

Jessica has an embroidery floss hair and bun. She stays out of the sun with her red umbrella.

Julia has on a lovely lace trimmed wedding dress with a borderie perse appliqué  wedding bouquet. Detail for the veil is found at the bottom of this page.

Lindsay is going shopping with her red ribbon appliqué trimmed dress.

Marjolein is walking on a stone paved path in the fenced garden. Her brimmed bonnet hides her face from the sun. Borderie perse appliqué flowers and shadow appliqué are used in this pattern.

Stella has a bonnet that lets her hair show in the back. Two different lace trims accentuate the dress.

Victoria has red embroidery cardinal sitting on her mailbox. A scarf  that matches her bonnet blows in the wind.

Double Blocks 

Aunt Cordelia & Violet          $13.50

Violet has come to visit Aunt Cordelia and her cat. Aunt Cordelia is sitting working on a quilt, while Violet holds her thread waiting for instructions and help on her appliqué quilt. Quilting is used to show the wallpaper  texture.
